THE POSITION

The Cashier ensures that receipts are issued correctly and  that all funds received are always accounted for. He/she prepares vouchers, verify that payments are made promptly and that the checks are remitted to payee as issued. Additionally, he/she posts all receipts issued and payments made on behalf of DFC to the accounting data base.

HEADQUARTERS, BELMOPAN

Education & Experience

  1. An Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
  2. At least three years of related work experience.

Key Responsibilities Include:

1. Collect monies on behalf of the DFC and immediately issue receipt for monies collected.

2. Prepare daily deposits of cash and cheque collections received.

3. Prepare disbursements and pay bills.

4. Enter all payments and Cash Disbursement to the accounting system (when applicable) and the Loan Management System on a daily basis.

5. Maintain accurate records of all transactions processed and prepare reports of daily transactions.

6. Assist in the Accounting and Loan Management System training of new staff members.

7. Adhere to the Corporation’s policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and safeguard against fraud. Also assist in enforcing security measures to protect the Corporation’s assets and customer information.

Excellent planning  and organizational skills (will be required to juggle multiple and unexpected priorities as normal part of responsibilities)

Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications

Good team Player

Punctual and dependable

Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality and ethical behaviour
