Chief Risk Officer at its Headquarters Office in Belmopan, Belize.

THE JOB
The Chief Risk Officer (CRO) is a key member of the Corporation’s Executive Management Team in charge of ensuring sustainable business performance through the independent identification, measurement, assessment, control and monitoring of all significant risks to which DFC is exposed.
DUTY STATION
Headquarters, Belmopan
Education & Experience
- M.Sc. in Finance or Economics or other quantitative field.
- At least five years of managerial experience with at least three years at a senior management level, preferably in a financialinstitution.
- Experience in loan underwriting/credit appraisal.
- Understanding DFC’s role as a development bank, including the propensity for higher risks, and its implication on riskmanagement.
- Proven leadership skills with special concentration on strategic planning, change management and communication.
- Experience in the establishment of a risk management function.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Understand the unique role in the financial services sector and priorities of a development bank, including their propensityfor higher risks and the implications for risk management.
- Ability to communicate effectively at the board and senior management level and to work on detailed technical issues.
- Ability to synthesize data and measure the impact of trends on an organization.
- Ability to lead, motivate and guide staff in the achievement of objectives, at times working within strict time constraints.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Contribute to DFC’s people-centric culture by always putting the people it employs, and the people it serves at the center ofeverything.
- Lead the DFC risk management function.
- Develop the Risk Management Framework that identifies, assesses, monitors, and controls the financial operational and otherrisks to which DFC is exposed.
4. Develop appropriate risk management policies and procedures.
5. Define key risk management protocols such as risk appetite, risk limits and profiles.
6. Advise on operational business decision making especially as it relates to the identification, measurement and monitoring ofcredit, operational and other emerging risks.
