THE POSITION

The People  Operations  Assistant  provides  administrative  support  to  the  People  Operations  Team.  This  role  supports  the Corporation’s people strategy to enhance employee well-being, drive organizational success, and cultivate a performance-driven culture where team members thrive.

DUTY STATION

Headquarters Office, Belmopan

Education & Experience

  • An Associate Degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Two years of experience providing administrative support.
  • Previous experience working in the HR field would be an asset.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  1. Information Management– Ensure accurate and up-to-date employee records in the HR Management System, including managing new records, processing and monitoring leave requests, and maintaining leave data.
  2. Recruitment Support– Coordinate interview logistics, assist with new employee orientation, update orientation materials, and manage responses to employment applications.
  3. Training and Development Support– Support the implementation of the Annual Training Plan by managing logistics, coordinating seminar registrations and travel, preparing training materials, and tracking participant evaluations.
  4. Employee Engagement Support– Support employee engagement initiatives, recognize employee milestones, provide professional guidance on policies and benefits, and promote compliance with safety and health standards.
  5. Assist with Payroll and Benefits Administration– Assist with payroll backup, process and monitor staff loans for compliance, and maintain accurate loan records and files.
  6. Administrative Support to the People Operations Manager– Provide administrative support by drafting correspondence, preparing reports, compiling audit data, managing procurement and supplies, and ensuring efficient departmental operations.

Required Skills & Abilities

  1. Working knowledge of HR best practices and principles.
  2. Basic understanding of Belize’s labour laws.
  3. People-oriented and commitment to delivering high quality and professional service.
  4. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in English.
  5. Strong planning, organizational, and time-management abilities.
  6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  8. Demonstrates confidentiality, ethical behaviour, and attention to detail.
