Raineldo Guerrero – Chairman of the Board

Mr. Raineldo Guerrero was reappointed on April 1, 2025, as the Chairman of the Board for a second termHe also previously served as a Private Sector Director, nominated by the Belize Tourism Industry Association (BTIA) and as Deputy Chairman. He has been serving on the Board since April 2019.

Director Guerrero is the Founder and Lead Consultant/Trainer of RGConsultingBz and has over 45 years of experience as a corporate executive in the private sector. He has worked in various corporations at senior levels of executive management in areas of finance, marketing, strategic development, organizational transformation, inclusive of consultancies and trainings within said fields.  In the span of his career, he also served on several Boards and presently serves as Chairman of the Belize Institute of Management (BIM) and as Director of the following organizations: BTIA, PACT, and Galen University. Director Guerrero holds a Diploma in Business Administration and a host of certificates in a wide range of business related subjects.

Carlos Pol – Director

Director Carlos Pol serves as an Ex-Officio Director representing the Ministry of Economic Transformation. He was appointed on April 1, 2025 and has served on the Board since May 2024.

Director Pol is the Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of Economic Transformation. He has been in the Government Service since March 2002 with the Ministry of Economic Development. During his more than 22 years working with the government, he has served in different capacities from an Economist, Project Coordinator, Senior Economist, Director and acting CEO. He has and continue to represent the Ministry of Economic Development in various councils, committees, task force and boards providing technical guidance and support.

Director Pol holds a Master’s Degree in Public Sector Management from a Catholic University in the Dominican Republic. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University College of Belize now known as University of Belize.

Rene Nunez – Director

Director Nunez serves as an Ex-Officio Director representing the Financial Secretary, Ministry of Finance. He was reappointed on April 1, 2025 and has been serving on the Board since July 2021.

Director Nunez is currently employed as an Advisor in the Ministry of Finance. He has amassed over 25 years of operations management experience working in both the public and private sectors. He was Executive Officer in the Ministry of Economic Development (1993-94) and Minister Counselor at the Permanent Mission of Belize to the United Nations (2003-2005).

Director Nunez has served as Assistant to the President and Director of International Programs at Spalding University and as Associate Director of the Bluegrass Community Health Center at Eastern Kentucky University, as well as General Manager of Laru Beya Resort in Placencia.

Director Nunez holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in International Economic Development from Georgetown University.

Servulo Baeza – Director

Director Servulo Baeza serves as an Ex-Officio Director representing the Ministry of Agriculture. He was reappointed on April 1, 2025 and has been serving on the Board since February 2021. 

Director Baeza is the Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise. He brings a wealth of experience in state affairs as a past Minister of Government in the Ministries of Health, Agriculture, Housing and Minister of State in the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment.  As an educator, he lectured at Muffles High School, Muffles Junior College, and St. John’s Junior College.  He also has first-hand experiences within the cane and cattle industries.  He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Biology from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, USA.

Kimberly Wallace – Director

Director Kimberly Wallace, LLB, CLE, was appointed as a Private Sector Director on April 1, 2025, following her nomination by the Bar Association of Belize.

An Attorney-at-Law and associate at Bradley Ellis & Co. LLP, Director Wallace has built a distinguished legal career in Belize, with expertise in Civil Litigation, Commercial Law, Contract Law, Family Law, Corporate Services, Employment Law, Real Estate, Probate and Succession, Taxation, Intellectual Property, and Conflict Resolution Mediation. She also maintains a limited Criminal Law practice.

Her professional experience includes serving as a Crown Counsel in the Litigation Unit of the Attorney General’s Ministry and as a Legal Officer at the Financial Services Commission.

Director Wallace currently serves as Secretary of both the General Legal Council and the Bar Association of Belize. She is also a Court-Appointed Mediator.

She was called to the Bar in Belize in 2018 and holds a Legal Education Certificate from the Norman Manley Law School, a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of the West Indies, and an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice (Hons) from St. John’s Junior College.

Jody Williams – Director, Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Director Jody Williams was appointed as a Private Sector Director on February 1, 2025, nominated by the Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He currently serves as the Chief Sales and Marketing Director at Marie Sharp’s Fine Foods Ltd., where he oversees the global sales portfolio spanning over 38 countries. He is also an Online Lecturer in Business, Marketing and Operations Management at Galen University. With over 15 years of experience in marketing and sales, Director Williams brings a wealth of expertise to his role.

In addition to his professional responsibilities, Director Williams is actively involved in several national boards. He has served on the Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Executive Council for three terms, initially as an Executive Councillor and now as the Vice President of Commerce. His other board memberships include the Statistical Institute of Belize, Custom Brokers, and various Agrifood and Agriculture boards.

Director Williams holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Galen University. His extensive experience encompasses the Agriculture Industry, Sales and Marketing, Shipping and Logistics, Contract Administration, Customer Service, and Complaint Management.

Eleanor Gillett – Director, Association of Tertiary Level Institutions of Belize

Director Eleanor Gillett was reappointed on March 1, 2025 for a second term, as a Private Sector Director, nominated by the Association of Tertiary Level Institutions of Belize (ATLIB). She has previously served on the Board from March 2015 to February 2019. She is currently the Chair of the Board Management Credit Committee (BMCC) and is a member of the Board of Management Committee..

Director Gillett is the Dean of Wesley Junior College and has 27 years of experience within the academic field.  In the span of her career, she also served in several membership capacities including: ATLIB, Belize District Education and The Belize Teacher Award Committee. She holds a Master’s Degree in International Workforce Education and Development from National Taiwan Normal University.

Warren Coye – Director, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Belize

Director Warren Coye was appointed on November 1, 2021, as a Private Sector Director nominated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Belize (ICAB). He is currently the Chair of the Audit Committee and is a member of the Board of Management Committee.

Director Coye is a practicing member of Belize’s Institute of Chartered Public Accountants and has been a member since 1999. He has served and currently serves in several capacities on boards and committees that include: Former President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Belize, the Supervisory Committee of the Holy Redeemer Credit Union as Chair, and Member of the Belize Tax Appeals Board. He is an avid amateur road cyclist and former Olympian.

Director Coye acquired his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from St. Thomas University, Florida in 1989. He later became licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in 1996 by the California State Accountancy Board. Since 1996, he has been a Managing Partner of Coye & Associates, specializing in various areas in audit and consultancy services. For over twenty years he has helped clients in both the public and private sector establish sound financial systems and adopt best practices to achieve both stability and success.

Stewart Krohn – Director, Belize Tourism Industry Association

Director Stewart Krohn was reappointed on April 1, 2025 for a second term as a private sector director nominated by the Belize Tourism Industry Association (BTIA). He was first elected president of BTIA in January 2021 and re-elected to a second two-year term in January 2023.

Director Krohn serves as Managing Director of GBP Investments, Ltd., a company which pioneered television production and broadcasting in Belize since 1982. He later moved into tourism with the development of Naia Resort and Residences in Placencia.

Director Krohn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Kalamazoo College in Michigan along with graduate work at University of Michigan Law School and the London School of Economics and Political Science. He currently serves on the Belize Tourism Board and is a director of the Belize Fund for a Sustainable Future. He is also a Past President of the Caribbean Broadcasting Union and member of the Caribbean Broadcasting Hall of Fame.

Makeup of the Board of Directors

A Board of Directors is appointed by the Minister of Finance to provide effective governance over the management and administration of the Corporation and is accountable to its owners for fulfilling the purposes of the Corporation. The Board of Directors is comprised of nine (9) members selected as follows:

  • The Chair – One (1) person, not being a person holding an office of emolument in the Public Service of Belize, appointed by the Minister of Finance;
  • Five (5) persons representing the Private Sector and drawn from:
    • Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry
    • Belize Bar Association
    • Belize Institute of Chartered Accountants
    • Association of Tertiary Level Institutions of Belize
    • Belize Tourism Industry Association

 

  • Three (3) Government Representatives, as follows:
    • The Financial Secretary (or a representative appointed by the Financial Secretary)
    • The Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Economic Transformation (or a representative appointed by the CEO)
    • The Chief Executive Officer (Agriculture) in the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise (or a representative appointed by the CEO)
