THE POSITION

The Senior Accounting Clerk performs a diverse range of high-quality administrative and bookkeeping duties to enhance the Accounting Department’s effectiveness. He/she is responsible for office tasks that involve reporting, filing, research and creating resolution of discrepancies related to any of the tasks he/she performs.

DUTY STATION

Headquarters, Belmopan

Education & Experience

  • An Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
  • At least three years of experience working in the accounting field.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Process loan payments, amendments, adjustments, balances, and final payment certificates.
  • Assist with insurance reports and monthly uploads to the loan management system.
  • Verify collections to ensure accurate allocation in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, journal vouchers, and process online banking transfers.
  • Perform daily transaction uploads and reconciliations.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Serve as relief cashier on a rotational basis and manage accounting supplies.

  • Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills (will be required to juggle multiple and unexpected priorities as normal part of responsibilities)
  • Team Oriented and possess a positive attitude
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Good team Player
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and ethical behavior
