THE POSITION

The Manager, Marketing and Communications is responsible for the development of effective marketing and communications goals, strategies, and implementation plans to support the Corporation’s strategic goal of becoming the financial institution of choice in development banking. Builds cross-functional relationship with organizational stakeholders to understand products, customers, and industry and develop a focused communication program. Explores and adopts new channels, methods and platforms to optimize marketing communications.

Education & Experience

  • B.Sc. in Marketing or Communications
  • At least 5 years of experience as a senior marketing executive with proven experience in the development and execution of successful marketing and communications plans and strategies
  • Excellent understanding and familiarity with brand building and brand management
  • Demonstrated proficiency in internet marketing techniques, technologies, and solutions
  • Ability to successfully oversee marketing, advertising, and public relations activities

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop, execute, and govern marketing concepts and programs for engaging various stakeholders as per the business strategy and work closely with lending operations and business representatives to ensure content alignment and feasibility of the concepts and programs at business level.
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies that build customer loyalty programs, brand awareness, and internal and external client satisfaction.
  • Serve as the Corporation’s Public Relations Officer and initiate effective strategies that will help to build and maintain a positive public image.
  • Develop and maintain digital content and media strategy and structure representing the complete portfolio and value propositions in a consistent and qualitative way.
  • Define key targets and quality metrics for marketing and communications initiatives and reviewing and evaluating results upon completion of the activities.
  • Serve as the corporate Client Care Liaison to help ensure the delivery of superior client service.
  • Guide, mentor, train and provide technical support to the Branches in the development and implementation of their respective marketing plan and budget.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of the Marketing & Communications Department, ensuring high performance, compliance with corporate policies, and continuous staff development.
  • Keep up to date with best practices and trends in Marketing and Communications by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participate in professional societies.
  • Serve as an active member of the Management Team and contribute to the Corporation’s strategic planning and organizational development.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent communication skills that may include public speaking and presentations

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Up to date on industry trends to be able to stay ahead of the curve
  • Excellent managerial and leadership skills
  • Results driven and customer focused
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and familiar with new channels used for mass communication
  • Knowledge of DFC’s role as a development bank and its contribution to national economic development
  • Working knowledge of Spanish would be an asset
